This very day last week, while browsing my Facebook news feed, there were many posts and re-posts of children’s cute Halloween costumes put together by their parents. I salute the parents who were able to creatively pull off awesome costumes, but there was one costume that was so creatively put together, it stole my heart and my attention!
I had to reach out to the mother behind this awesome costume. Her name is Ana Cortez. We attended the same schools growing up, and she’s still as sweet as she was back in our younger days. I would love for you guys to meet her also:
“My sons name is Anthony and he is 4 years old. He was diagnosed at birth with Arthogryposis and by the time he was 6mths he was diagnosed with scoliosis and thoracic insufficiency syndrome. He is a very smart and active child. Even with his disabilities he always has a smile on his face and that’s what keeps me going. I was inspired to make his costume because I wanted him to feel the way I look at him. I know that he understands that he has to go through the surgeries and go to all his doctor appointments. Through all that he is so brave, more than I could ever be. That’s why he is my hero!”-Ana Cortez
I admire Ana’s strength and willingness to educate and encourage other parents. It is such a pleasure to share her story & her son’s awesome Halloween costume!
