"Maternity Monday"

Hi Everyone!

With baby getting bigger, its inevitable that tummy gets bigger also. I usually don’t shop at maternity only stores (unless there is a sale) lol. I simply buy regular clothing items a couple of sizes bigger than normal and I make sure the tops are long enough, the bottoms are stretchy enough and the dresses are wide enough. I’m all about being comfy-cute during pregnancy and I also want to make sure that I can wear them again post baby πŸ˜‰ Β If this still sounds strange to you, let me show you some examples:

Example #1

Dress: Ross
Size: Large

Pre-Pregnancy I would purchase this dress in a medium.
Although this dress is a large, it will still be a cute wear post baby. If it is a little big, dresses like these always look cute with a thin belt tied around your midsection to give it shape. This dress will be very accessible post baby especially while breastfeeding because the top of the dress has an elastic-like band that easily pulls down for breastfeeding availability. It’s always a good thing to be mindful of what you wear post baby especially if you plan to breastfeed.

Example #2

Top: Forever 21
Size:Extra Large
Tights: Forever21
Size: Large
Pre-Pregnancy, I would have purchased the top in a Medium/Large, and
the leggings in a Large.

I’ve worn leggings almost every day during this pregnancy. In my eyes, you can’t go wrong with leggings or yoga pants! πŸ˜‰ Even though they are sizes larger, they can all still be worn post baby, especially since your body feels more comfy in loose clothes after baby.

Example #3

Dress: Thrifted

Size: Large
Shoes: Forever21
Pre-Pregancy, I would have purchased this dress in a size Large also.

The stretchy material of this dress makes it comfortable and flattering to wear during pregnancy. I love prints and the polka dots were right on point with my mood for that day. I wore this outfit to a good friend of mine’s wedding and I was comfortable enough to have danced, mingle and have a great time!

These are just some examples of how I maternity shop. My style is comfy-cute. I don’t believe in being uncomfortable to look good while pregnant. If I’m uncomfortable (pregnant or not) I will look & feel like a total mess. Don’t get me wrong, stores like Motherhood Maternity, etc, have cute Maternity wear, but I just simply believe in my friend Aisha’s blog statement:
