Carrying TWO Babies!?

When people see me carrying Olivia, i usually hear, “Omg put her down!” or, “thats too much stress on your belly!”..well, some of this may be true..i mean, Olivia is a nice sized 22 month old (with a nice sized appetite) lol…but there has been some research that shows that it is not as stressful as people may long as its not overdone…especially in a normal pregnancy.

Plus, how can I say no to my little Princess?

I can’t blame the people that see me carrying my toddler because i know it may look stressful, especially when your bump is big & growing, & growing, and growing…. (you get the point, right?) lol…

..but after talking with my doctor and doing much research I’ve came to this conclusion.
(Just a reminder, the information concluded is for a normal pregnancy. I’m only a nurse, not a Medical Doctor or Specialist. If you don’t like my opinion on this topic…tough)
I found this response on which sums it all up for me:
“Yes, for most women, carrying a toddler while pregnant with baby number two is totally fine. But there’s a trick to it that you should know: When you do pick him up, lift with your legs so you don’t strain your back in the process. You’ll probably be most comfortable holding him on your hip, below your bump.
And while there’s no weight limit, just remember that it is possible to overdo it. Any pain or spotting is a sign you’ve overexerted yourself. It doesn’t necessarily mean something bad will happen but it does mean you need to tone it down in the future.
Of course, there are some women who should avoid carrying their toddlers because they have a condition like a short cervix or a history of preterm labor. If you’re one of them, your doctor or midwife has probably already told you about your restrictions. If you’re unsure, definitely ask.”
…there you have it.

Exciting Week + Mini Weekend Recap

Hey Everyone!

I hope your weekend went well! Ours was so-so. I had a few events to attend, but with growing baby inside of me & busy baby outside of me, it’s a little harder to get around that fast these days…so I do what I can with prayer & a smile 🙂

Baby boy and I on our way to my childhood friend’s bridal shower

I was only able to complete about half of the tasks that i had on my “to-do list” over the weekend. However, I WAS able to run around town and get all of Olivia’s things ready for her first day of school this week! Yay!

Can you tell that she’s excited to start school? Playing teacher already 🙂

Im super excited, nervous, sad, happy..just a ball of emotions all in one. You should have seen me the past few days, I’ve been running around like a maniac getting her things ready to the T! I admit, I’m that “extra” type of mom…lol
Geez, is this a glimpse of the future when its time for her to go to college!? (wah!) I’m not ready for this! ..but I am super excited, God is doing his thang 🙂

Time really does fly, it seems like yesterday I took this picture of my precious 1 month old Olivia

Now I have a full blown, chatty 22 month old! While there are times when i wish i could press pause just to live in the moment for a while…i must say, this new “big girl” toddler phase is quite fun! Especially when she does things like tell me what she wants to eat for dinner…

Olivia’s menu choice on Sunday evening

Well noodles, apples and water it is Olivia!

Yummerz, she loved it..and left none to spare. Thats my girl 🙂
I hope that you enjoyed my post & have a great week!
